Deep
Tissue Specialization Instructor:
Eloise Albrecht 100 Hours $1,360 + texts Course Description: Deep Tissue massage is a broad term that encompasses both specific techniques and a different perception of the body. The techniques have names like neuromuscular, myofascial, trigger point, proprioceptive, etc. The perception skills of the deep tissue massage therapist are more educated, focused and specific. The techniques are only tools, however. The primary question is 'Do you have the awareness to use them accurately?' In the four Deep Tissue sections, we view each body
section in the light of how the musculature works together, how to touch
individual muscles, how to access individual muscle fibers, and how this
discrete section of the body connects to the rest of the body. We
continue the exploration of how to deepen the therapist's awareness as well
as the touch. Suggestions for how to talk about the work so your
clients understand it will be offered and discussed. Movements that you
can teach your clients will be shown and practiced. How to
talk to people while they are on the table, plus how to talk so they want to
get on your table [marketing in a conversational setting] will be practiced.
In addition, we learn different techniques, and apply them to the body
parts of the moment. Class also covers some beginning Qi development and Qi Gong exercises Classes include Deep Tissue I: Chest/Arms,
Deep Tissue II: Legs/Feet, Deep Tissue III: Back/Neck and Deep Tissue IV:
Pelvis/Abdomen/synthesis of I-IV, and a look beyond. Recommended
