the first class): In Functional Anatomy: Musculoskeletal Anatomy,
Kinesiology, and Palpation for Manual Therapists (Lww Massage Therapy & Bodywork
Educational Series) by Christy Cael REQUIRED: Pages 2-5, 8-14, 30-
41, 53-54, 61-65. That's 25
pages, with a lot of pictures.
Please review pp. 2 - 73 In the Trail
Guide to the Body: How to Locate Muscles, Bones, and More (3rd Edition) by Andrew R. Biel and Robin Dorn: Look at the Trail
Guide from the "How to use this book" section through the
"Types of Joints" section. If you decide to use
the Recommended Text: Musculoskeletal Anatomy Coloring Book by Joseph E. Muscolino DC $29.35 incl. tax ISBN:
978-0-323-02522-5. Read the Introduction
about how muscles work and Part 2 of the Intro, and 2 pages on Joints - 398
& 399 COLORING TIPS- for the Muscolino and the in-class
handouts If you decide to
use coloring at a study method, I highly suggest that you use one
color to 'highlight' the origin and another for the insertion of each muscle,
and a third for the body of the muscle. In class, I will use Orange for Origins [Origin
= Orange, get it?] and Indigo
for Insertions [something purple,
at any rate], and to give yourself consistency, and a break, and to make it
easier for your brain and learning processes, I suggest you do the same. If for some reason you don't use
orange and purple, the origins should all be one color, and the insertions
should all be a different single color.
The muscles should be different colors from each other, and from the O
& I's. That way, when you
look at the pictures, you will automatically see where the origin/insertion
is for each muscle, and in the picture with more than one muscle, you will see
the relationship of the muscles to each other. For Calendar Click Here For Testimonials Click
