Massage I Instructor: John McEnany 20 hours $285 Course description: This class explores the differences between
previously learned massage techniques and sports massage. It provides a clear understanding of
pre-event and post-event sports massage and stretching techniques. The student will learn how different
sports require the massage therapist to understand the unique needs of each
sport and its physical requirements. Required materials: One flat sheet 2 hand towels 2 bath towels Non-Biotone Dual Purpose massage cream Sports
Massage II Instructor: John McEnany 32 hours $441 Course description: As an expansion of sports Massage I, the students
will develop a deeper understanding of the application of massage a s part of
the overall training cycle for the athlete. Students will learn the distinction between restorative
massages for the performance enhancement and rehabilitative techniques for
injury recovery. Students will
also learn how to test the athlete’s muscles for soft tissue injuries,
limitation in range to motion, neurological imbalances and pain. Prerequisites: Sports Massage I plus Anatomy & Physiology
Intro (CMT250) or Kinesiology/Advanced Anatomy Required materials: One flat sheet 2 hand towels 2 bath towels Non-Biotone Dual Purpose massage cream Note: You must be a certified massage
