FOF I : Full Body Techniques
Learn the core techniques of MFR, including limb pulls, cross-hands, and basic fascial releases.
Description
This course will introduce students to the concepts and definitions of Myofascial Release (MFR). Students will receive training in body mechanics and truly learn how to hold MFR techniques without stressing their body, reaching into the deeper layers of fascia. Students will learn three “staples” of MFR: arm pulls, leg pulls, and cross-handed techniques; as well as basic sets of techniques for the pelvic, shoulder and cervical areas, including both a gentle and direct psoas release. They will learn how to apply these basic MFR techniques to relieve both the client’s complaints and the underlying structural imbalance, and be able to start full body MFR sessions immediately upon completion of this class. Topics will also include boundary setting with clients, marketing and how to transition and/or develop your practice. This class is now the prerequisite for all other Focus on Fascia classes. Unless otherwise noted, elective classes are only open to core program students or certified bodywork professionals in the following fields: massage, occupational therapy, physical therapy. All classes must have a minimum of 6 students to begin. If we do not have the minimum number of students by the scheduled start date, we may need to postpone allowing more time for enrollments. Course price includes tuition, registration fee and 4% processing fee for online payments. Class available to repeat students at a reduced rate. Contact admin@gotohhi.org for details. A digital PDF of course materials is included. A printed copy is available for an additional fee at checkout. Cancellations made 5 days or more in advance of the class, will receive a 100% tuition refund. Registration and processing fees are non-refundable. Cancellations made 3 - 5 days in advance will receive an 80% tuition refund. Cancellations made 48 hours in advance will receive a 70% tuition refund only if you have informed the teacher and the office (admin@gotohhi.org). Cancellations made less than 48 hours in advance are not eligible for refund.
